Thalipeeth Recipe

Beans Thalipeeth

Prep time: 2 mins Cooking time: 5 mins


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Jowar flour

  • 1/2 cup bajra flour

  • 1 teaspoon cumin

  • 1 tablespoon flaxseeds (optional)

  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

  • Salt to taste

  • 1/2 cup finely chopped beans (optional)

  • 1/2 cup water to make dough

 

Instructions

  1. Mix all the ingredients.

  2. Add 1/2 cup water and form a sticky dough.

  3. Take a portion of the dough and form a ball.

  4. On a cold tava place the dough ball and pat with your fingers gently to make a flat thalipeeth, make a small hole in the middle and turn on the flame. (check the video below)

  5. You can also use a muslin cloth or butter paper and transfer the flattened dough onto the hot tava. (be careful not to burn the cloth/paper and your hand)

  6. Cover with a lid and let it cook for 3 mins.

  7. Flip and let it cook on the other side for 2-3 mins or until it has golden brown spots.

  8. Serve with ghee/butter.
