How to make Falafel | Vegan Falafel

Soaking time: Overnight Prep time: 10 mins Cooking time: 10 mins


  • 2cups chickpeas soaked overnight

  • 1 cup chopped coriander

  • 1 cup chopped parsley

  • 1 medium onion chopped

  • 3-4 garlic cloves

  • 2 green chilies (add more if you want it spicy)

  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder

  • 1teaspoon cumin powder

  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil to deep fry



  1. Soak chickpeas overnight.

  2. Put the soaked chickpeas, chopped onion, coriander, parsley and garlic, lemon juice, coriander powder, cumin powder, soda and salt in a blender and make a coarse paste.

  3. Take out the mixture in a bowl.

  4. Make lemon sized balls of the mixture.

  5. Heat oil to deep fry. Deep fry until the falafel balls are brown and crispy.

  6. Serve with hummus or sauce.
