Ghee Mysorepak

Prep time: 2 mins Cooking time: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Besan

  • 1.5 cups ghee

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1 teaspoon cardamom

  • 1/2 cup water

 

Instructions


  1. Add 1 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water in a pan and let it simmer on medium flame.

  2. Meanwhile, mix 1 cup ghee and 1 cup besan with a whisk and make sure there are no lumps formed.

  3. Once the sugar is completely dissolved, add the ghee and besan mix to the boiling sugar syrup.

  4. Keep stirring on low flame and make sure no lumps are formed.

  5. After a while, it starts to bubble. Stir continuously. Add the rest of the ghee and stir.

  6. Let it cook for 10 mins. Do not stop stirring the mixture.

  7. The mixture starts thickening. Add 1 teaspoon cardamom powder.

  8. After another 5 mins, the mixture thickens and starts leaving the pan. (see the video below).

  9. Grease a wide plate with ghee. Pour the thick mixture into the plate and tap to level up the mixture.

  10. Let it cool and rest for an hour.

  11. Cut into desired shape and relish!

Grease a wide plate with ghee. Pour the thick mixture into the plate and tap to level up the mixture.

Let it cool and rest for an hour.


Cut into desired shape and relish!
