Ingredients
2 cups Chickpeas/Kabuli Channa soaked overnight (for 8-10 falafels)
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup fresh coriander
2-3 garlic cloves
1/2 lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon oregano and chili flakes
1/4 cup besan/chickpea flour
1 teaspoon salt
Oil to shallow fry falafels (you can also deep fry them)
Instructions
Soak chickpeas overnight.
Put the soaked chickpeas, chopped onion, coriander and garlic, lemon juice, oregano, chili flakes in a blender and make a coarse paste.
Take out the mixture in a bowl and add besan and salt and mix.
Make small balls of the mixture and shape them according to your desire and put them on a grill or tava and drizzle some oil.
You can deep fry them too. I have grilled them like patties.
Wait until one side is properly grilled and flip over.
Serve with hummus or sauce.
